The object
A residential building in Waverley, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, undergoing roof works under scaffold. Our scope is the main flat roof, including a skylight kerb, vent penetrations and the interface with an existing solar array.
The problem we solved
The roof needed a full warm-roof build-up over occupied space: a reliable, fully welded waterproofing layer, thermal insulation for the building, and clean, long-life detailing around the skylight, vents and perimeter edges.
Our scope of works
Full warm-roof system: rigid PIR insulation boards over the prepared deck, then a white PVC sheet membrane hot-air welded throughout. Perimeter terminations on PVC-laminated metal edge trims welded directly to the sheet; skylight kerb, vent pipes and upstands wrapped and detailed with preformed corners.
Special features / difficulty
A live remedial site with multiple trades and scaffold access, an existing solar array to work around, and a high density of penetrations and kerbs for the roof area — every one hand-welded and probe-tested.
The result
In progress — insulation and field membrane are down, detailing of kerbs, penetrations and edges under way. On completion the building gets a fully welded, insulated white PVC roof.
